
Saint Francis Xavier University is recognizing African Heritage Month, which kicked off with a town flag raising ceremony. This is a time for people to learn about the history and culture of African Nova Scotians and the contributions they made to our province.
“This year’s provincial theme is called Seas of Struggle African Peoples from Shore to Shore, and it outlines the struggles that people of African descent faced from the shores of Africa to the shores of Nova Scotia. “Says StFX Black Student Advisor Tara Reddick. “It’s a time to educate, celebrate, and honour the history of people of African descent that for so long was denied of us.”
