A man from Columbus, Ohio is the winner of the Nova Scotia Marathon.
Wesley York ran the race in Barrington Sunday morning in just over 2 hours and 50 minutes.
York says everyone was positive and supportive.
“I could not have asked for a better experience for my first marathon. It’s something that I’ll definitely come back to. I’m going to go back to the Midwestern U.S. and rave about it to my friends,” said York.
Ryan Keeping of Upper Tantallon was the top Nova Scotian, finishing second.
Hundreds were in Barrington for the 52nd annual event, there was even a kids race this year.
Misty James with Barrington Recreation says it was a great race day Sunday.
“We had really good weather, it was kind of cool out. Considering all of the things Nova Scotia has gone through, we had a great turnout, people from all over the world were represented,” said James.
Sacha Hourihan of Sussex, New Brunswick was the top female finisher.
