Halifax RCMP arrested a 12-year-old girl this weekend following a stabbing in Middle Sackville.
Police responded to reports of the stabbing at around 7:35 p.m. last night. They learned that the 12-year-old was involved in a physical altercation with a 15-year-old girl, during which the 12-year-old stabbed the 15-year-old.
Officers say the victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The 12-year-old is set to appear in provincial court at a later date.
It’s the third time this year that a minor has been arrested after stabbing someone in the HRM. Back in March, a 15-year-old stabbed staff members and injured himself at a high school in Bedford, and in May, another 15-year-old was arrested after stabbing someone at a fair in Dartmouth.
