Thousands in Nova Scotia will be grabbing their backpacks and making their way to class Thursday morning.
It is the first day of school.
This means you should expect a lot more traffic on your way in.
Corporal Carlie McCann from the RCMP tells our newsroom, roads will be busy.
”So anyone who is going to be out on the roads, especially during those busy commute times, is reminded to give yourself lots of extra time during your commute…and make sure you’re paying extra close attention to what is going on around you.”
RCMP say there will also be a heavier police presence in school zones.
There are more than 135,000 students in the province heading to school Thursday, as well as 20,000 teachers, principals and staff.
