The Liberals won’t pick a new party leader until next fall.
The party was devastated in the recent provincial election, shrinking from 17 seats to just two.
Derek Mombourquette became the interim party leader when Zach Churchill stepped down.
But they won’t choose a new leader until Nov. 21, 2026, according to a news release.
The party says it’s to give the new leader more time to meet with party members.
They say the New Brunswick Liberals did this and won with a strong majority in the fall.
