Two snowmobilers have been found after running into trouble in blizzard-like conditions in the Cape Breton Highlands.
It marks a successful end to a complicated search.
They had been missing since Friday, which prompted a large scale search in near zero visibility that continued into Saturday.
The search efforts centred in the vicinity of Oregon in Victoria County, but it’s believed the snowmobilers were well off the trail.
RCMP are still asking people to stay out of the search area due to the dangerous winter conditions.
Family of one of the snowmobilers posted on Facebook saying they had not heard from them since 2 p.m. on Friday. It prompted crews to assemble a large scale search team.
Their condition is not fully known at this time but they were taken to hospital for treatment.
Efforts were led by the RCMP and supported by fire services, ground rescue teams and in the air from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre.
