Sidney Crosby is joining Team Canada.
The Cole Harbour native has been added to the roster for the World Hockey Championship, which starts this weekend in Sweden and Denmark.
Crosby’s Penguins missed the playoffs for the third straight year, he captained Canada’s 4-Nations team to victory in February.
It’s rumoured that fellow Nova Scotian Nathan MacKinnon will also make the trip, his Avalanche were eliminated from the playoffs over the weekend.
