The only survivor of a horrific crash on Highway 101 in Falmouth is expected to survive.
According to a GoFundMe, organized by a longtime family friend Jan Saunders, 29-year-old Colby Allen is on a long road to recovery and will need financial assistance.
In the statement from the fundraiser which has already raised more than $5,000, Saunders says, Allen and his family are longtime residents of Pugwash, and they need help.
“He is in need of financial support to assist him on his journey to his recovery. Any donations [are] greatly appreciated by the Allen family,” says Saunders.
It was just before 11 p.m., on May 10 when a Honda Civic travelling the wrong way on Highway 101 between Hantsport and Falmouth collided with a Nissan Sentra.
In the Civic, a 43-year-old man and 45-year-old woman were pronounced dead at the scene.
Allen was a passenger in the Sentra that had three other people in it, a 45-year-old woman, a 58-year-old man who died at the scene, and a 50-year-old man who died in hospital.
Allen was sent to hospital to hospital in critical condition.
RCMP say they had received reports of possible impaired driving from the same Honda Civic earlier in the evening and are looking for more information.
Second GoFundMe
A second fundraiser which has now raised more than $11,000, is also circulating online for the children of two of the victims, Randy and Amanda.

“Amanda and Randy were always the first to help anyone and everyone with anything; local groups/teams/clubs, a neighbour, a stranger, your child or mine with no questions asked and no thanks needed,” says organizer Amanda Mattinson.
The post goes on to say, “if you were lucky enough to know them, you were blessed.”
