The family of a missing Cape Breton man believe they have found his remains and are now seeking justice.
Ken and Peggy MacDonald, the parents of Justin MacDonald posted an emotional video on social media, Wednesday, confirming human remains found Monday near Sydney, are of the missing 34-year-old.
Justin was last seen at an Irving gas station in July 2024.
His vehicle was found three days later around 25 kilometers away.
Since, three men were charged in December 2024, in connection to the suspected homicide.
Now, Ken and Peggy say they are confident the remains found on Morley Road belong to their son.
“We expect forensics to be able to identify very fast. We know 100 per cent in our heart that it is Justin,” says Ken in the video.
He adds, major crimes and forensics can’t make their statement yet because they have to go through the “process”.
Ken says they want to thank everybody after searching for Justin for 322 days.
“We were looking for our son who we knew was murdered. There’s three people charged in his murder. So, I’m now going from a missing person to justice for Justin,” notes Ken.
He adds, the next step is to deal with the legalities and verification from police.
