For the first time ever, the Canadian Men’s National Soccer Team has touched down in Halifax.
The team will be training at the Wanderers Grounds over the next two days as part of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which Canada is co-hosting.
While Monday’s training session is closed to the public, fans will have a unique opportunity to attend an open practice on Tuesday evening from 6–8 p.m. Tickets are available now, and the event includes a chance to meet players and enjoy post-training interactions.
Adding a local touch to the visit, Nova Scotia’s own Jacob Shaffelburg, the lone Atlantic Canadian on the squad, will be giving back to the community. He’s set to assist with a youth soccer practice organized by Soccer Nova Scotia, offering young players a chance to learn from one of their own.
The visit is part of a broader effort to grow interest in the national team and the sport across the region.
