A prominent food delivery app is facing legal action for charging hidden fees at checkout.
The Canadian Competition Bureau says DoorDash is allegedly advertising online delivery for less than what they actually charge.
Their investigation found shoppers were forced to pay more than the advertised price because of mandatory checkout fees.
The bureau says it’s been happening for nearly a decade and brought in about $1 billion.
They want DoorDash to stop the practice, pay a fine, and give back money to customers who paid mandatory fees.
