More than 1,300 customers had their power restored after an outage caused by a vehicle accident early Sunday morning in Inverness County.
The utility said the outage began at 4:17 a.m. and affected 1,303 customers in Mabou, Strathlorne, Lake Ainslie, Port Hood and Glencoe.
Nova Scotia Power’s online outage map now shows no customers without electricity, and the cause is listed as “under investigation”.
Inverness MLA Kyle MacQuarrie wrote on social media that he had spoken with repair crews and was told there had been a single‑vehicle accident on Hawley’s Hill.
He said everyone involved was okay and that crews were in Mabou preparing to begin repairs once safety precautions were in place.
MacQuarrie added that a community dinner at the Mabou hall was still going ahead between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., with organizers using a generator to serve turkey.
Nova Scotia Power has not provided further details, and the RCMP have not yet released information about the collision.
