The Poppy is the international symbol of Remembrance, you will see them being sold in stores now ahead of Remembrance Day on November 11.
The Poppy should be worn on your left side, close to the heart.
We all have experienced losing a Poppy after attaching it with the pin it comes with. It is the position of the Legion that the Poppy is the sacred symbol of Remembrance and should not be defaced in any way and with that in mind, no other pin should be used to attach it to clothing.
Some tricks I’ve used in the past:
-Putting an earring back on the pin
-Wrapping tape around it so it can’t slide back out
-Sticking the pin through a small piece of eraser
-Swapping out the pin for a safety pin
You can also purchase a pin that is made to look like the original Poppy center.

They are sold online at poppystore.ca which is part of the Royal Canadian Legion, so proceeds go directly to them & they are offering free shipping until November 11.
Poppy Store items can also often be bought at many local Legion Branches.
