Nova Scotians will get less from the carbon tax rebate starting in April.
Ottawa announced the carbon tax rebate amounts for the 2024-25 fiscal year on Wednesday.
A family of four in Nova Scotia is set to receive $206 every quarter, down from $248.
That works out to a reduction of $168 over the course of the year.
Individuals will get $103 every three months instead of the current $124, a reduction of $84.
Officials said the reduction reflects the carbon tax pause on home heating oil that began in November.
The feds are also planning to double the rural top-up to 20 per cent, pending Royal Assent.
Meanwhile, the federal government also announced it is changing the name of the rebate.
It will now be known as the Canada Carbon Rebate instead of the Climate Action Incentive Payment.
