The owners of the Halifax Mooseheads are thanking fans for their support and reassuring them that next year the season will end differently.
Last week, the team got eliminated from the playoffs after a 5-1 loss to the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies at Scotiabank Centre.
Tuesday, in a letter posted on X, Peter and Sam Simon reflect on how proud they are of their team, staff and organization now that the season has come to a close.
“This season was one of a new culture, character and identity that will forever continue to be the ‘Mooseheads Way'”, the post reads.
The team this year was young, but the statement goes on to say that despite that, their belief was “strong as ever” there was “no limit to what we could achieve”.
Now, the letter says, the onus is on staff and returning players to be “even stronger”.
“We set our own expectations internally, and the standard will only elevate from here,” says the post.
Acknowledging their fans, the owners say they couldn’t have done it without their support.
“We truly have the best fanbase in the entire world and cannot thank you enough for your support,” reads the letter.
Now, the statement says, they are looking ahead and will commit everything in their power to become a “championship contender”, with a different end result.
“Onward and upward, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. GO MOOSE GO!”
