Canadian visits to the United States are down for the sixth straight month, according to Statistics Canada.
The number of Canadians returning from the U.S. by vehicle dropped 33 per cent year over year in June to 1.3 million.
It marked the sixth consecutive month of year-over-year decline, said the latest report from StatCan.
The agency’s monthly report also showed that return trips by air were down 22 per cent to 363,900. Return trips from other countries climbed more than seven per cent.
There were also fewer Americans crossing the border into Canada, but the drop was not as significant.
StatCan said there were 1.4 million U.S. resident trips to Canada, a drop of 10.4 per cent — the fifth consecutive month of year-over-year decline.
U.S. residents arriving in Canada by air fell nearly one per cent compared to the same month in 2024 to 665,700.
