Nova Scotia is launching a new website that updates progress on two public inquiry reports.
The province says it will involve actions made in response to the Mass Casualty Commission (MCC) in addition to the Desmond Fatality Inquiry.
You’ll be able to search for information using a key word, theme or date.
“We’re committed to working across government and with communities to address the recommendations made in the Desmond Fatality Inquiry and by the Mass Casualty Commission,” said Premier Tim Houston. “This website will serve as a way to provide updates to communities on the government’s progress on these recommendations.”
The province says working with those most affected is key to actions taken. The website has information on how government and community partners can best work together.
The MCC was formed after the 2020 Nova Scotia mass shooting when a gunman disguised as an RCMP officer shot and killed 22 people including a pregnant woman in Portapique.
Lionel Desmond, suffered from severe PTSD after two tours in Afghanistan but fell through the cracks of the healthcare system before he murdered his mother, wife and daughter, then himself in Upper Big Tracadie.
