Many hospital services across the province are being suspended to help contain the spread of COVID-19.
In a release, the Nova Scotia Health Authority announced services would be suspended or reduced starting Wednesday.
This includes:
-Cancellation of all elective outpatient visits.
-Rescheduling of all non-urgent diagnostic imaging appointments.
-Closure of walk-in x-ray services.
-Reduction of outpatient blood collection services
-Postponement of all same-day admission and elective surgical procedures.
It says they will also be holding impatient beds at some hospitals to create COVID-19 units.
The release says emergency services, cancer treatments, and other long term and time sensitive treatments will continue as normal.
It says NSHA is working to contact all affected patients.
