The province now has 147 cases of COVID-19.
Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang announced 20 new cases at a press conference Tuesday.
He said one case has been confirmed to be transmitted through community spread, and they are investigating some additional cases which could be as well.
Dr. Strang took time to issue a warning, he said there are people exploiting fear and anxiety to spread misinformation on social media.
“Whether it’s products or procedures that actually can, for instance, boost your immune system or cure you from COVID-19. This information is wrong, and it is dangerous,” he said. “Please do not listen to that information, there are unscrupulous people trying to take advantage of you.”
Dr. Strang said research on the disease is ongoing, but there isn’t a vaccine yet.
He said you should only get information and advice on COVID-19 from official government sources.
