A former Port Hawkesbury town councillor says he’s disappointed councillors didn’t extend his term.
Trevor Boudreau had his application for a six-month extension to his term denied at a special council meeting Tuesday night.
He made the request after he moved outside town limits in March.
Boudreau tells The Hawk he’s disappointed councillors decided against the extension because his interpretation is different, but he accepts the decision.
“What I hope that council does when they make decisions is take all the information that they’re given, and make the best decision possible based on that information,” he says. “If council feels that’s what they’ve done this time, then that’s their prerogative, but I’ve always said that whatever the decision is, I will accept.”
Boudreau says he’s disappointed because he believes he has something to offer during the COVID-19 pandemic.
