
The province confirmed two deaths due to COVID-19 on Saturday.
That brings the total number of deaths in Nova Scotia to 31.
Both occurred at the Northwood long-term care home in Halifax Regional Municipality.
In a press release, Premier Stephen McNeil said “On behalf of all Nova Scotians, I want to offer my condolences to the families of the residents of Northwood who have died due to COVID-19. I am very sorry for your loss.”
McNeil went onto say “I ask Nova Scotians to continue to fight this virus through diligent social distancing, hand washing and common sense.”
The province also confirmed four new cases of COVID-19 and the total across the province is now 963.
Nine individuals are currently in hospital, including three in the ICU.
The QEII Health Sciences Centre microbiology lab completed 866 tests on Friday and is operating 24-hours a day.
Nova Scotia has 29,406 negative test results and 609 individuals have now recovered and their cases of COVID-19 are considered resolved.
