Some StFX students have been ticketed for violating COVID-19 restrictions.
In a letter to members of the campus community which you can read below, the university’s vice-president of students services says there were incidents of student behaviour that didn’t meet public health or community restrictions the past two weekends.
Elizabeth Yeo says they’re aware of tickets issued by RCMP and reports from community members about social gatherings that exceeded maximum size limits.
Yeo says six fines of $1,000 have been issued through the Nova Scotia Health Protection Act, as well as several fines for noise violations at the same addresses.
She says they’re also investigating reports of on-and-off campus gatherings that exceeded the maximum size limits.
