Nova Scotia Health Public Health is advising of potential exposure to COVID-19 on two Marine Atlantic ferry crossings.
Anyone who was on the following Marine Atlantic ferry crossings are asked to immediately visit to book a COVID-19 test, regardless of whether or not they have COVID-19 symptoms. You can also call 811 if you don’t have online access or if you have other symptoms that concern you.
If you do not have any symptoms of COVID-19 you do not need to self-isolate while you wait for your test result.
If you have symptoms of COVID-19 you are required to self-isolate while you wait for your test result.
- Marine Atlantic crossing travelling on MV Blue Puttees departing from North Sydney, NS (Thursday, April 1) at 11:45 a.m. arriving in Port-aux-Basques, NL the same day. All passengers are asked to immediately book a COVID-19 test, regardless of whether or not they have COVID-19 symptoms. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on this ferry on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, April 15, 2021.
- Marine Atlantic crossing travelling on MV Blue Puttees departing from Port-aux-Basques, NL (Tuesday, April 6) at 12:30 p.m. arriving in North Sydney, NS on the same day. All passengers are asked to immediately book a COVID-19 test, regardless of whether or not they have COVID-19 symptoms. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on this ferry on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, April 20, 2021.
Do not go directly to a COVID-19 assessment centre without being directed to do so. Please book an appointment online or call 811 and do not go to a pop-up rapid testing location.
