A woman who was reported missing in the Annapolis Valley has been found dead.
The body of the 32-year-old was found at 7:25 a.m. Monday by ground search and rescue volunteers in a wooded area.
RCMP say it was near her last known location early Saturday afternoon in Nictaux.
They say a cause of death has not been determined, and they’re working with the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner.
A vulnerable missing persons alert was issued for the woman Sunday.
Police had said it was uncommon for the woman to not be in contact with loved ones for several hours, which prompted the call to authorities.
About 50 volunteers were involved in the search Sunday, focused in the Nictaux and Middleton areas.
Teams from Lunenburg, Yarmouth, Clare, Digby, Valley, Annapolis, West Hants and North Queens assisted.
Update: The 32-year-old woman reported missing from Nictaux, who was last seen on the afternoon of August 2, has been found deceased. Our thoughts are with the woman’s loved ones at this difficult time. https://t.co/ye8STW3fZW pic.twitter.com/qi7CLCpi0Y
