A big success for an annual charity that brought in thousands for cancer patients at a local hospital.
The Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital Charitable Foundation says Harness The Hope fundraised $12,329.10 to help cancer patients.
These funds will assist the patients with travel assistance, medications, and other essential needs for their care, including wigs and compression sleeves.
Some patients must travel as far as Halifax or Sydney for radiation therapy.
Bridget MacQuarrie led this year’s campaign and thanks the Inverness Raceway, businesses and families who donated.
“Your support is greatly appreciated. This is all for a great cause that benefits our Inverness County residents. It is a pleasure to help our cancer patients,” says MacQuarrie.
The ICMH Charitable Foundation is grateful for the successful flea market, merchandise bingo, online auction, raffles, and sponsorships for the third year.
