A number of years ago, the playground at Tamarac Education Centre in Port Hawkesbury was removed due to safety concerns. The majority of the cost of a replacement fell on the community.
A committee was formed and they set about raising the funds – as you can imagine, the price tag on playground equipment that meets safety standards is very high. The committee was not deterred and through various fundraisers and grants were able to purchase new equipment! The pictures below show the beginning of the construction phase.
