Another successful ‘Run for Wishes.’
Sixteen members of HMCS Halifax have completed a run across Nova Scotia for the 21st straight year.
They raised over $38,000 and growing for Make-a-Wish kids.
Master sailor Mario Vignola says the money stays right here in the province.
“Right now there are 80 children awaiting a wish. We’re working on those as we speak,” said Vignola, who spoke with Acadia News on their way from Greenwood to Digby last week.
The run began in Sydney and went all the way to Yarmouth on the weekend.
“We all come together to do this event. Legs have been holding up good, and morale is high, everyone is extremely motivated. Nova Scotia is a pretty place to run through.”
Closing ceremonies were held Monday in Halifax.
