An MP who crossed the floor last fall says Matt Jeneroux is a welcome addition to the Liberals.
Chris d’Entremont of Acadie-Annapolis commented on the former Conservative’s decision to join the Carney government.
Jeneroux resigned last fall from the Conservatives due to ‘family reasons,’ but announced his move to the Liberals this week.
d’Entremont says he and Jeneroux share similar views, as they were both Progressive Conservatives.
“So it’s good to have him re-think his decision, and continue to serve the people of Edmonton-Riverbend, and all of Canada. He will be a definite asset to the government,” said d’Entremont after a housing announcement in Yarmouth.
When asked about advice for Jeneroux, d’Entremont said to ignore any negativity on social media.
He says the majority of people are happy with Prime Minister Mark Carney’s government.
Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre says Jeneroux betrayed his constituents.
