If you watched the Academy Awards last night, you would have seen history being made! Local history! Tamara Deverell is a legendary production designer who has worked on movies like Nightmare Alley, Priscilla, Star Trek, and most recently Guillermo del Toro’s movie Frankenstein.
She moved to Cape Breton a few years back, but last night she was in L.A. for the big night, the Academy Awards! She was nominated for her work on Frankenstein, and she won!
As far as I could find, she is only the sixth Nova Scotian ever to win an Academy Award!
