The search continues for a missing man in the Colchester County area.
Forty-seven-year-old Jason Lorette was last seen March 19 in Salmon River and reported missing the next day.
It was Sunday when police issued an emergency alert over his disappearance.
In an interview with Acadia News, spokesperson for the Nova Scotia RCMP Carlie McCann says there were reasons that decision was made.
“One of the factors that contributed to this was the anticipated poor weather that was coming, “says McCann.
She says there have been several agencies involved in the search, including police dogs.
McCann says since the search began, there has been a “variety” of information come in from different parts of the area.
“One of the things that we are asking people to do is check their surveillance cameras, doorbell cameras, trail cams, things like that,” adds McCann.
He’s believed to be wearing a blue flannel jacket and is believed to be on foot and does walk with a certain “strut”.
RCMP also do not think there is any criminality involved in the case.
If you have information you are asked to call police.
