
Canada Day Activities throughout The Quad Counties!
Margaree Forks: The Coady Tompkins Memorial Library will host the Annual Canada Day Literary Festival starting at 2pm.
The Municipality of the District of St. Mary’s: 5K Canada Day Walk, Run or Wheel, 9am starting at Sherbrooke Village Parking Lot. All Day Yard Sale – watch for posters. Street Parade, 4pm with the line up at St. Mary’s Recplex Parking Lot. Family Fun Day, 5-9:30pm at the Sherbrooke Ball Field with live entertainment starting at 6:30pm. Fireworks at dusk!
Town of Port Hawkesbury: Events on Granville Green from noon to 2pm. Games, bouncy houses, BBQ, cake, refreshments, music by Beech Hill. Rain venue is the Civic Centre.
Municipality of the County of Richmond Events:
LeNoir Landing in Arichat: Public Market from 11:30am to 1:30pm. Followed by events from 2:30-5pm including Flag raising, singing of O Canada, live entertainment, games, bingo and the Maritime Marionette show. Free hot dogs and drinks all day.
Point Tupper: Canada Day breakfast at Henry Paint Street from 10am to noon, while supplies last. Food, games, entertaining and socializing. https://www.facebook.com/events/1989302267755758/
Basin River Inhabitants: events held on the grounds of the Cleveland Church and Museum from 11am-1pm. Hot dogs, sausages, kids activities, Canada Day cake and refreshments.
St. George’s Channel: celebrations at the South Mountain Arm of Gold Community Hall from noon to 2pm. Free hot dogs, Canada Day cake, ice cream and refreshments.
River Bourgeois: Tara Lynne Community Centre with events from 11:30am-1pm. Music by Evelyn MacRae & friends, a Chinese Auction, children’s games, Canada Day Cake and more.
Dundee Resort & Golf Club: hot dogs, Canada Day cake, kids activities, live entertainment from 1-4pm.
Louisdale: events at the St. Louis Parish Hall from 11am-1pm. BBQ lunch, kids activities and musical entertainment.
St. Peter’s: activities at the Lions Marina from 1-4pm. Face painting, musical entertainment, games, free hot dogs and pop. Canada Day cake. Fireworks at dusk at Battery Park.
L’Ardoise: in the Community Centre, events go 1:30-4:30pm. Flag raising and singing of O Canada followed by cake, games, live entertainment and free hot dogs.
Town of Antigonish: Breakfast at the Royal Canadian Legion from 8:30-10:30am. In the evening, events take place on Columbus Field. 8-8:45pm entertainment by Brian MacDonald, Marian Dewar & dancers. 8:45-9:15pm, Dignitary Speeches. 9:15pm music with Jug in Hand. Fireworks at dusk.
Havre Boucher: 10am-3pm is the Stanton Levangie Memorial Show & Shine. Canteen services on site.
Mini Trail Community Centre in Lakevale: 11am-1pm, games, inflatable obstacle course, baseball, live music and cake, cash canteen.
St. Andrew’s Junior School: 12-5pm, Big Block Jenga, Giant Ring Toss & Frisbee, face painting, bouncy castles, entertainment and a barbecue.
Baddeck: Visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic site free all day, or browse the shops for Canada Day specials. The parade begins at 1pm. The waterfront will have kids games and food from 2-4pm! And there’s afternoon & evening pubs, and an adult dance, with fireworks at dusk.
Goldboro: Canada day celebrations starting at 3 pm. Fishing derby, kids games, fireworks, etc. Music from 6 pm to time of fireworks.
