The Department of Fisheries and Oceans has released its list of convictions for violations of the Fisheries Act this fishing season, and 8 Quad Counties fisherman are on it.
DFO issued fines in local communities from Cheticamp, to Inverness, Arichat, River Bourgeois, and as far down as Glenelg in Guysborough Co.
Penalties vary, but DFO officers seized catches, issued up to three-day suspensions for the 2020 season, and handed out fines between $500 and $3,750.
