The province now has 12 cases of COVID-19.
At a press conference Wednesday afternoon, Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang said there are now 3 confirmed cases and 9 presumptive cases.
In that same conference, Health Minister, and Antigonish MLA, Randy Delorey said employers can no longer require sick notes.
As well, Premier Stephen McNeil says all personal service businesses, including gyms, spas, and hair salons, must close starting at 12 a.m. Thursday, and all public adults with disabilities support programs are required to close immediately.
Meanwhile, the NSHA has tightened their visitor policy to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
In a release, the NSHA says no visitors are permitted at any hospital.
There are a few exceptions: visitors for patients at end of life, one support person in the delivery room, a child’s parent, and designated decision makers.
The NSHA says these measures are in place to reduce the risk of transmitting the disease.
