Sportfishers across the province are being told to stay home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The province’s sportfishing season was set to begin Apr. 1, but it’s been delayed until at least May 1.
In a release, Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister Keith Colwell said they made the decision following the closure of provincial parks and beaches.
He said people who’ve already purchased a licence will be able to use it when the season opens, but they aren’t issuing refunds.
He says the licenses are good until Mar. 31, 2021.
The moratorium extends to all angling in the province, whether it requires a licence or not.
