
The province confirmed six deaths due to COVID-19 on Saturday.
That brings the total number of deaths in Nova Scotia to 22.
Five occurred at the Northwood long-term care home in Halifax Regional Municipality and a man in his 80s with underlying medical conditions died in the Western Zone.
In a press release, Nova Scotia’s chief medical officer of health, Dr. Robert Strang said we shouldn’t be leaving the house unless we need to.
Strang says “please stay home as much as possible, wash your hands and maintain physical distance.”
He went onto say “let’s be able to look back and know we did everything we could to stop this virus from hurting any more of our fellow Nova Scotians.”
The province also confirmed 15 new cases of COVID-19 and the total across the province is now 865.
11 individuals are currently in hospital, including three in the ICU.
The QEII Health Sciences Centre microbiology lab completed 965 tests on Friday and is operating 24-hours a day.
Nova Scotia has 25,119 negative test results and 412 individuals have now recovered and their cases of COVID-19 are considered resolved.
