The president of the Port Hawkesbury food bank says donors are making a huge difference during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Larry Evans says the food bank is serving new clients because of the virus, and community donations help them meet that demand.
Evans told The Hawk Morning Show they’ve gotten great support from local donors.
“It’s been really good, and we’ve had tremendous support from the donors around the area,” he said. “Particularly some of the restaurants that were forced to close- they’ve provided us with a lot of their perishable produce.”
Evans said it made a big difference in what they were able to provide clients.
