There have been more Health Protection Act charges in Antigonish.
RCMP say officers responded to several calls for noise complaints, house parties with more than 10 people, and large groups of students gathering on town streets during the weekend.
They say this isn’t acceptable behaviour during a pandemic, and they’ll continue to take enforcement measures to stop it.
Police say five people face provincial Health Protection Act charges for failing to social distance, three were charged through the Town of Antigonish Municipal Noise Bylaw, four were charged through the province’s Liquor Control Act, and one person was taken into custody for being intoxicated in a public place.
Four StFX students- three in September and one in August- were previously fined for not self-isolating upon their return to the community.
