Nova Scotia is officially entering Phase 4 of its reopening plan on Wednesday.
That means further restrictions are being eased in our province, including increasing capacity for restaurants and businesses as well as group gathering limits.
Restaurants and bars can return to normal hours and retail stores can operate at maximum capacity so long as public health measures like physical distancing can be maintained.
Nova Scotians no longer have to wear a mask when heading to outdoor spaces where it’s difficult to distance, such as playgrounds.
Informal gathering limits are also increasing with 25 people allowed inside and 50 outside without distancing or wearing a mask.
This phase was contingent on having 75 per cent of the population with at least one dose of the vaccine as well as low COVID-19 cases.
Nova Scotia reported one new COVID-19 case on Tuesday, bringing the province’s active case count down to 31.
Premier Iain Rankin and Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang will provide a COVID-19 update at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
