Lobster fishing season is now in full swing in LFA 33 and 34.
It’s been over two weeks since Dumping Day and we’re now getting an idea of prices this season.
Executive director of Brazil Rock 33/34 Lobster Association Dan Fleck discussed where prices were at as of this Wednesday.
“It’s $11 and a little but more than $11,” says Fleck. “I believe the opening day price was $8 and a little bit, and I believe that was a record setting price for the opening.”
He discussed the quality of lobster that is being brought in.
“The quality seems to be phenomenal for this time of year. Local people would refer to it almost like a spring lobster, quality is great,” says Fleck. “They’re full meated, hard shelled, shiny lobster and they taste great.”
