The provincial NDP is calling on Premier Tim Houston to amend the program which gives Nova Scotians paid sick days.
Leader Gary Burril says the program should include time off for vaccinations as well.
He says while new appointments are opening up, a lot of people are stuck trying to book around their work or child care schedule.
“The relatively low cost of this program last spring shows that people aren’t abusing sick days when they’re available,” said NDP leader Gary Burrill. “People need the protection of paid sick leave and they need it to also cover vaccinations.”
Premier Houston and Dr. Strang are set to have a COVID update today at three o’clock.
