The Mounties say a missing 48-year-old Nova Scotia man has been found dead in the Sissiboo River.
48-year-old Graham Cromwell, a fisher from Weymouth Falls, disappeared on Wednesday.
Digby RCMP responded to the report at around 8:45 p.m. that night, saying they had been told the man entered the river but had not been seen exiting it.
RCMP say his body was found about one kilometer downstream from Gates Lane at around 5:30 p.m. Friday.
The search included resources from Ground Search and Rescue teams from Valley, Clare and Digby, RCMP Police Dog Services, RCMP Air Services, the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team, the Joint Rescue Co-Ordination Centre, the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources and Renewables, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Emergency Health Services, and local fire departments.
“Our thoughts are with Graham Cromwell’s friends and family at this difficult time,” a news release says.
