Strait Richmond Hospital was opened in June 1980 and on November 3rd of that year, the Strait Richmond Health Care Foundation was registered as an official charity. They are committed to raising funds to purchase much needed medical equipment for our hospital.
The 22nd annual Lights for Life campaign is underway.
The goal for 2025 is to raise $30,000
Money raised will go towards essential equipment for the ALC and Rehab units:
- Comfort Care Slings
- Sara Steady & Mechanical Lifts
- High back Chairs, High Flex Armchairs & Bariatric Armchairs
- Chair cushions
- Manual Wheelchairs & a Tilt Wheelchair
- Water & Ice Dispenser
There are many different ways to support the Lights for Life campaign.
They accept cash, cheque, debit or credit card and e-transfer ([email protected])
You can play their monthly lottery though Rafflebox. Proceeds from the lottery are distributed among the 24 participating Healthcare Foundations in Nova Scotia.

Strait Richmond Health Care Foundation members invite you to a holiday celebration at the hospital on December 3 at 6pm. Santa will be there along with music, cake, cookies and hot chocolate. Donations will also be accepted.
